  8.  DR.BOB LAUNCHES HEADCONV 1.0 - C DLL HEADER CONVERTER EXPERT FOR DELPHI

  10.  Helmond, The Netherlands -- Dr.Bob has announced he will launch the first
  11.  C DLL Header Converter Expert for Delphi, HeadConv 1.0.

  13.  Targeted at the serious Delphi developer, the HeadConv Expert will assist
  14.  in the task of converting the C DLL header files to Delphi import units,
  15.  giving all Delphi users access to the huge world of third-party C DLLs.

  17.  HeadConv has full support for functions and procedures, argument and return
  18.  types (128 custom type conversions) and generates implicit Delphi import
  19.  units. The expert is integarted in the Delphi IDE, making the conversion
  20.  very easy as the converted file is opened up in the IDE automatically. At
  21.  this time there is limited (non-complex) support for typedefs, structs,
  22.  unions, enums and conditional compilations. HeadConv is not targeted to do
  23.  the conversion 100% on its own, rather it will assist in converting the C
  24.  DLL header files!

  26.  "The whole idea of a C translator is really great. I think in the long run
  27.  it will prove more useful than a VB-Delphi translator because so much of
  28.  the useful low level code that is suitable for a compiled language like
  29.  Delphi's ObjectPascal is written in C." said George Watson, a beta tester.

  32.  monkey work, even when not everything was converted 100% correctly."

  34.  The shareware version of HeadConv 1.0 will be available directly from LIB 22
  35.  of the DELPHI forum. Registrations can be made (US$ 25) in the SWREG forum
  36.  (id #6533). All registered users will receive source code for the expert and
  37.  stand-alone EXEs (source code for the parser is not provided!), a detailed
  38.  WinHelp file, the capability for generating explicit import units, and the
  39.  chance to send new wishes and receive regular updates by CompuServe mail
  40.  when available.
